Under contract with the United States Public Health Service, RMPDC is coordinating with all metropolitan Denver public safety, public health and health care agencies in developing emergency response plans capable of responding to events involving chemical and biological agents. § The RMPDC is proactively protecting the community by providing surveillance and monitoring of health effects for populations at risk.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has contracted RMPDC to manage the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Medical Monitoring Program
§ The RMPDC is actively involved in Disease Prevention and Control.
RMPDC and Denver Health has received a grant from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the development of training tools for those professionals dealing with chemical and biological agents unleashed as a result of a terrorist event. The Colorado Health Emergency Line for Public Information (COHELP) is a public support service sponsored by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to keep you informed on current public health or bioterrorism issues.
